ALESSANDRA VINCI
 
Alessandra Vinci, with a strong training in classical music, brought the sonorities of Debussy, Satie and Chopin within the music of the Duet.
She studied piano and got the diploma in 1986 at Musical Institute "Luigi Boccherini" of Lucca and in 1988 she got the diploma at State Institute of art of Pisa.
She attended several pianist contests, often arriving first, such as the III National Contest of the Town of Alberga, in1980, the Musical Regional Review "F.I.D.A.P.A. in 1982, 1984 and 1988 of Pisa, the Musical Trophy “Pietro Napoli” in 1985 at Livorno.
From1980 to 1988 she made several concerts like soloist, pianistic duo and group of chambers at Alberga, Pisa, Livorno, Piombino, Portoferraio and Assisi.
From 1990 to 1994 she worked as graphic and comics illustrator for some newspapers.
With the saxophonist Ivo Papadopoulos she founded the jazz-rock quintet Dharma and then in 1999 the Dharma Duet (piano and sax) with whom edited the CD Clazz.
She works with several classical musicians, as the clarinettist Umberto Mori and the soprano Milvia Brandizzi; in their repertory the play music of Mozart, Schubert, Gershwin, Debussy, Chopin, Satie, Verdi, etc.). From 2000 she has an other classical group with the mezzosoprano Alessandra Lemma.
Alessandra Vinci is a piano teacher and classical soloist.
With the Dharma Duet is testing a new way to write the music by using the Musical Hexagram of the Chinese Master Wu Dao Gong that makes easier the reading of the music for the pianists. On this Hexagram the Dharma Duet has composed a song that takes inspiration from Eric Satie: “Variations on Do’s Hexagram of Gnossienne n 1”.
